Good location..walking distance or $4 cab ride to town.<br/>Unit is in need of upgrading but it is ok.<br/>Property managers- Christine and Luis are FANTASTIC! When we arrived the internet was not working and I had an ear infection from the previous week's diving.<br/> Luis showed up in one hour and fixed the internet. Christine went to the pharmacy for me and within 2 hours brought me the antibiotics I told her I needed (saving me a $75 visit to a physician and also getting me "local" prices for the drugs). Great service!!

This was our 4th stay at this complex and the first in unit 201. Location was perfect. Best for the price for sure. Unit 201 had everything we needed. Our only suggestion is that the owner spend a little extra money updating the condo & making some needed repairs. That said this unit and complex are still a very good value. The grounskeeper & maid were very nice. The outside was well kept & condo clean. The island property Manager Fulvio was helpful & welcoming as always. He is a true gem!

Cantamar 201 is an excellent value!

My group of two adults and three children stayed in Cantamar 201 for 4 days in May 2011. The property was clean and comfortable, and the staff was attentive. This condo is very clean, has comfortable beds and all the amenities you need for a relaxing vacation. Nice pool and beach platform, and great snorkeling right in front of the property! We did not rent a car and had no problem flagging down taxis when needed, for the ride to town that cost about US$5. I will definitely reserve this unit on a future trip!

One thing we have noticed is general upkeep of the condo. While it is very nice and we've been staying there almost every year, we notice small things like towel racks not being fixed (fall down when hanging a towel)for 2 years.

We have been to Cozumel several times during the past decade and Cantamar is far and away our first choice of places to stay. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The place is meticulously clean. Conveniently located within walking distance to town (and a local grocery store), but it feels more isolated an serene than other places I'm aware of on the island. Best of all, the snorkeling right off the pier at the property is wonderful! For us, it's paradise.

My wife, daughter and I recently stayed in Unit 201. Splendid views and close to the water. The snorkeling was excellent! Overall the unit was clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well stocked for those who would like to "cook at home". However, we felt that several upgrades were in order; i.e.: the sliding screen doors don't slide, the bathrooms are very outdated and the entire unit could stand to be re-painted. All that being said, we still enjoyed our stay. It is a short walk to 12 minute walk downtown. We did not need a car/taxi.<br/><br/>We would definitely stay at Cantamar again.

The condo was very nice but a bit difficult to get to due to construction in front of the building. Otherwise a good value and a good location.

This is the 6th time my family has stayed in this unit and we love it. However, we recommend the owner pay attention to a couple of updates, namely new drapes and interior paint. Also need a couple more plastic chairs for the porch. Other than that...fantastic!!

Incredible snorkeling. Best view. Great pool. Good location.

Helpful hints: change the interior color, upgrade the kitchen. The kitchen cabinents are falling apart. The frigerator did not keep our food cold. We had to throw out uncooked squid and chicken. The FREE international phone did not work. Get rid of the artificial flowers and dollies (sp). Tidy up ALL cupboards. Leave surfaces clear, so guests can put their stuff down. For a unit that sleeps 8, to have patio chairs that only seat 2 was not adequate. Get thicker cushions for the lounge chairs. Dining room and living furniture were very nice. The outside and pool were well maintained. Loved the palapas and the "beach". Having all the books were great. Over all, we would certainly stay at the Cantamar again. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

It was pretty awesome to be able to snorkle right off the patio. Tons of fish (all different kinds), crystal clear water. We had some problems with the bathroom water.....fixed within 1 hour.

We really did have a terrific time. The condo was a perfect distance away from town. We also rented a car to see more of the island. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Making our own food was very convenient, with the occasional visits into town for dinner.

pool not functional for first 36 hours; whole condo had no hot water for first 24 hours; no hot water at master shower entire stay; no cold water at kitchen sink entire stay; we've stayed at Cantamar 3 times and have always recommended it to others but we don't feel we can recommend it anymore

Good location, away from the crowds. Ocean or pool swimming steps away. Downtown 1 mile, nearest store, about a 15 minute walk. A/C worked well, as did everything else. Fulvio made good effort to meet us, but we were always out. Maid kept place clean. Overall good experience.

Best deal for a large group friends who don't mind sharing space.

Fantastic snorkeling off the peer - say hello to the resident porcupine fish and the lobster family. A 20 min walk to the town Square. Cheap cab fare to town square and to Soriana supermarket. Quiet neighborhood at night.

Had a great stay in a lovely condo.Perfect position especially for snorkelling - lots to see directly from the condo. Only 1 negative, we had a problem with the hot water, seems that the heater was not working properly. However the manager did attempt to fix it but water was still only tepid.Pool was great, cleaned everyday and the sand beach was "combed" most days. Maid service very efficient. Hope to return one day.
